What's the most unusual/scariest event in your life?

Here is where you discuss everything under the sun, just keep it clean.

What's the most unusual/scariest event in your life?

I have so many, but I'll start... I have been a victim of stalkers, actually I"ve been stalked by a county. Its kind of a long story, but its amazing what gossip can do. Where ever I go, the county follows. I keep thinking someone should start a recovery group for victims of stalkers (stalkers anonymous, maybe that's upside down) There should be two groups, stalkers and stalkees. Its kind of freaky having someone follow your every move, documenting everything you do or say. (I kind of understand what fame must be like) No privacy. You lose your sense of security. I feel sorry for Jim, he must live with that on a daily basis.

I was followed in London by a couple of men right before the first gulf war.

Friends had to be with me to and from the college campus.

I hate driving in snow, but I had to do it when I worked at the hospital.

There were quite a few white knuckle commutes.

I was bitten by a possibly rabid dog in Tibet whilst backpacking when I was 22, I was 2 days from medical attention and cried for 8 hrs straight thinking was gonna die a horrible death thousands of miles from home, now that was scary. Well I'm still here so it had a happy ending (think twice about where your gonna go on your gap year !)

I had a very, very lucky escape in an RTA in my mid 20s. I remember lying in ITU and realising all the ops I would need to get myself back on track and thinking, "S***, you've really screwed yourself now!!!". Horrible. But from that experience I do know that with self determination you can go exactly where you want to, and for me it was back to how I was before. Just perfect!! :)

As for being stalked, I won't say I suffered from this badly, but an ex of mine DID follow me relentlessly, everywhere for a short whiloe and that brief taste was just a nightmare. I'd hate to think it was long term. It's mental torture. I recall hiding in ladies toilets just because I knew he couldn't go in there. Awful things happen in times of stress...

Stalkers, well I had this one guy I met and dated shortly (he was a Tom Cruise lookalike) Things began to get screwy, I broke it off. Next thing I know I woke up with my window unhinged, his arms coming through my bedroom and wrapped around my neck. Two days later, he showed up at my workplace and started a fire. Unfortunately, I've had a few 'stalkers'. I've looked in the mirror a million times and wondered what it was, I finally gained a bunch of weight, and I've kept a clear distance from men for a while. I seemed to have been a magnet. But there have been wonderful men too, one even wrote poetry for me; and it was published. Now, that was cool!

Gaining weight? I did that at twelve because mom and I couldn't go to the mall without me being ogled by older men and her being disgusted by it. I thought I'D done something wrong.
