dumb and dumber soundtrack

on my dumb and dumber tape the music sounds distorted(like the tapes been stretched) it also does this on my dads copy. but the voices sound fine. plus the end credits music is fine.(ive only owned this for 3 months as well)<br>is it meant to be like this? <p></p><i></i>
