1st Review!!!

This one from the Hollywood Reporter!

"It's difficult to know at times whether Carrey is playing with us or legitimate with his talk of a benign Mr. Hyde side emerging to take control of his personality. But when he wistfully observes, 'Andy came back to make his movie,' he's oddly convincing, making this an original, unexpectedly affecting tribute to two distinctive comic performers."

I heard Andy's still alive one time
I found a video on you tube and
It was this guy who said he was Andy Kaufman
Imagine if it was ay.. but I think Jim did the best ever with man on the moon. I mean I am convinced it was Andy the whole time.
Real time spirit possession

"Using TV, movie and live-performance archive material as well as family home movies, Smith deftly tells both Kaufman and Carrey's stories while recounting one of history's weirder movie shoots and charting a chilled present-day Carrey's memories and meditations on the events of 18 years past. What emerges is a double portrait of two men whose compulsion to lose themselves in other characters is both an addiction and a variety of creative autism."

"Arguably more interesting than the film that generated it, Jim & Andy ranks alongside Lost in La Mancha as a gem salvaged from a wreck."

I'm a bit late to the party (could not login), but I've been following the Festivals and reviews closely. They are all very positive. 'Man on the Moon' is one of the best biopics I've ever seen and I am extremely interested in the docu. Great it's going be on Netflix!

An interesting observation by Brian Orndorf of Blu-Ray.com.

"'Jim & Andy' is insightful when inspecting the gut instinct of acting and physical transformation (one unsettling anecdote concerns Carrey spending an hour in-character with Kaufman’s daughter, who never met her father), and Smith has a gold mine in the BTS videos, which finally reveal just what happened during the creation of 'Man on the Moon,' which wasn’t just a film shoot, but a voyage into space and time for Jim Carrey, who returned to Earth a changed man."

Hey JCO:

I watched "Jim and Andy:The Great Beyond" this morning. I really loved it. Now I can't wait until it gets on Blu-ray and On Demand. Today, I bought Jim's 1984 movie "Finder's Keepers" on Blu-ray. I read somewhere that Jim's other TV guest shot "All in Good Taste" will be on Blu-ray or DVD soon.

Just saw it. Thoughts later. One thing is for sure, I liked it. And I have even more respect for both the movie and Jim himself as a human being after this.

I just finished it.
If Jim gives 110% to everything that he does, he went a full 200% for Man on the Moon.
A very interesting and moving documentary.

i really really loved this documentary story
it was a personal glimps of the inside the mind and soul and heart of the persons
of Jim Carrey andy kaufman and tony clifton
i felt this one and still am thinking bout it after watching it

i believe that Jim was andy and was tony during this entire journey of the making of the film man on the moon i believe he embodied the spirit heart and soul of
andy kaufman and tony clifton totally

and absolutly believe 100 percent absolutly no doubt in my mind what so ever
i know this is a fact and it is true
and what makes this all so very special beyond that
is Jim really loved andy kaufman so much
so really from beyond andy allowed Jim to embody his very essence
that is all the talent plus
its a blessing and everyone felt it
i also love the off the set talks Jim did about his personal recolletions
his expereicnes growing up his family father and grandfather, when i head this
it really touched me, i cried
i began to really understand much more
i really think Jim is an incredible human being i grew to really honor love and respect
he is super human beyond human
and this movie about the movie man on the moon has a special connection
its no wonder when it came it that it was my favorite not knowing the Jim Carrey we know today now, if that makes any sence....for me the more i watched his movies
like man on the moon, and truman show and Eternal Sunshine..the more we got a glimps of his soul, yes beautiful is the correct word to use to describe the soul of Jim Carrey..
his spirit....beyond this world...period
im touched and i cried
just sharing

love you all
C
