Stop the sequels!

Ya know Jim Carrey is great but i really wish Hollywood would stop making sequels to Jim Carrey movies without Jim Carrey! Movies like Dumb and Dumberer, Son of the Mask, Evan Almighty. And lets face it with the possible exception of Evan Almighty (which in my opinion was nowhere near as good or funny as the original) those movies were horrible. And now i read there's going to be a new Ace Ventura movie, with no Jim Carrey!

that is one very good point...

but i don't think the qualify as sequels...they are just new movies with new actors...doing stolen ideas of the originals

they may be good / bad....but why not i guess...we know who will win the flag in the end

they are not sequels they are just plagiarism

lol......i really liked Evan, but it wasn't really a sequal........and anyway, i'm a sucker for all animals so they made it for me...

Infact it's not a true sequel!!But it's very funny!!It's obvious that if were Jim it changed all!!

I liked dumb&dumberer but I hated the guy who played lloyd in it.
I liked evan.
I haven't watched son of the mask, because I'm pretty sure that movie stinks.
And I don't like the idea of a new ace-movie, because only Jim can play Ace, and a 3th movie would probably ruin the 1th and the 2nd.
And isn't this talk about that movie son of Ace Ventura, or how'd ya like to call it? Isn't there already a topic opened?

I put my hand up....i liked dumb and dumberer too... but i do like the guy who played lloyd.. only the fact being that i had seen him in a couple of other films before and thought he was cute and funny bless him!

.. But i think an ace sequel without Jim is an outrage its just not right! lol... evan almighty i havnt seen but again steve carrell is awesome and it isnt a sequel in that he is coping Jim its a different kinda thing and there are still the same guys in that one which is good. steve carrell is awesome lol.

Because Hollywood's running out of good ideas--if they ever had any to begin with. It's hard to tell if a movie's good today on account of the writers, directors or just the actor(s) ad libbing their lines. Who knows. Ace Ventura's just one of those characters that can't be played: unless it's Jim Carrey playing him. He put a lot of his own whacky personality and energy into Ace, and that's what made the two movies so much fun. If anybody else plays Ace--or Ace's son, who you know'll just act like a smaller version of Ace--their guaranteed to fail. This is like that terrible rumor a few years ago about a sequel to Scarface that's about Tony Montana Jr. Jesus. And to make matters worse, they wanted some stupid, obnoxious rapper to play Tony's son.

Can you imagine if somebody else played Ace in "When Nature Calls," how horrible that'd be? Let's face it: the writing was horrible, but Jim Carrey made it an enjoyable movie just because he was in it. Ace Ventura 3 is a guaranteed failure. Let's just not pay any money for it and pretend it doesn't exist. Then maybe those stupid suckfishes attached to these movies will learn a lesson. Maybe.
