Jim Carrey at Howard Stern Show
17 Jul 2020

By Eva Araújo (Web correspondent)

One of the cool things about any projects an actor may have is to see them doing interviews to promote it. We always learn something new. With the Covid-19 pandemic still going, interviews have become virtual, whether it is a video conference format or a podcast.

On July 14, Jim Carrey was at the Howard Stern Show to talk about his book "Memoirs and Misinformation".

Howard asked Jim if he really did bought Charlie Chaplin's cane and Jim decided to show him.

Check out the video to see the relation:

Jim talks about many celebrities in his novel and the one very dear to him is fellow comedian Rodney Dangerfield. And Jim only had compliments, not only about him but also about the way he treated his father: "He was always there for me, always supported me, even when I was experimenting and didn't know what the hell I was doing, He sat in the wings with his balls hanging out of his, you know, frigging robe on the side of the stage just howling with laughter, and I'd get off and he'd say, 'Man, they're looking at you like you're from another fucking planet.'"

Even when Rodney was dying just payed a visit to him: "I said, 'Don't worry, I'll let everybody know that you were gay.' At that point, his eyes kind of shifted and his mouth started shaking like he wanted to say something to me. I could see there was a look of like joy and recognition and stuff, and all the machines lit up."

Check out the video about Rodney:

He also mention in his book both Renée Zellweger and Linda Ronstadt, two women he dated and has a lot of respect and love for:

Howard also asked about the photo used as cover for the book and Jim says:
"This is my face after I've been told I have 10 minutes to live. Look what I went through because of misinformation."
His assistant took a screenshot of his face by accident when the missiles you were suppose to fall in Hawaii and they were warned it was over. Thankfully that didn't happen.

The conversation ends with Jim Carrey singing "God bless America"… with his ass.
