Had a quiet Canada Day
Went 2 beach sunny, windy and reggae music
Sang on beach
Especially a song we are working on
Re: The sadness of the possible
Thousands of unmarked graves
Of children found on
Residential school properties
My In Morning Day (MIMD)starts
Today
Orange is the colour
4 Days is
often
How long people
Outwardly show their sorrow 2 those they love

4 days
Also maybe a few
Other things
To show how I feel about
This horrible made secret
Continuous travesty on
Aboriginal Children
The Pass the Buck
Attitude and Activity
Is horrendous
Apologies are few and far between

Original - Beginning - Started
This Aboriginal
We have treated the people
With Deep Disrepect

Especially the
1800’s Original Government Organizers (OGO)
Too haughty and full of themselves
(Imagining that “Their sht don’t” stink)
Cause is does, just like everyone else’s

Canada who have shown this
Just by getting a shot 2 help
Protect one another
But sad that
Many original organizers
Cared little for assisting
A people who Needed to retain
The Good aspects of their culture
They assumed
There Not to Be Any Good
Their assumptions

I’m saddened and shaved
Sad because those children couldn’t run away
They were trapped and couldn’t get away
Punished for being themselves
Hurt
By those who should have protected them
If they did escape
the elements
May have finished them off
Exposed to memories
That would haunt
Throughout
Their whole life
Sad because it too long to find them

I had my daughter shave my head
(She insisted on leaving a stubble at the top)
I have thought about doing it 4 a long time
But I never had a good enough reason to do it
When I heard about the nameless children
In graves in B C recently discovered and
Hidden for many years
I envisioned those children heads shaved and
Told to become something they were not
Meant to be
The one thing most women usually spend
Time and money on is their hair, myself included.
I did it to show
My grief and distaste for what happened to them
Finally we have a native Governor General
$ saved can be sent so those children
Who once lived can be respectfully
Remembered
I couldn’t think of any other way to mourn

Over 60 and
I have never had my head shaved b4
Not sure my hair will grow back
Due to my many allergies
My hair usually grows
Very slowly
But I have a daily reminder
When I look in the mirror
I remember

Had
No
Choice
