What did you learn today?

In my days here away from home, I'm much more aware of things I learn on a daily basis. Whether it be by reading a book or by just living life day to day, I find that the day seems to mean more to me when I am aware of the lesson I've learned. So, I've decided to acknowledge at least one thing I've learned each night before I go to sleep. So, I'll share with you mine for the day...

My energy is far more important than the deeds I do or the words I say. As a co-habitant being on this earth (I share it with other people, plants and animals) I need to be aware of the energy I'm giving off. When i am flustered and walk into a room, yet attempt to smile and pretend all is OK, everyone else can feel my energy. In a sense it is to lie to give off a different action that doesn't reflect my energy. if i'm not feeling calm/assertive, I need to be aware of that and let go. Then, and only then, will my example be followed.

I'd love to hear what some of you all have learned today as well!

I learned that no matter how hard you squeeze your eyes closed and wish, there is no such thing as a dish fairy that appears and washes the dirty dishes.

well today i learned how Ganesh got the head of an elephant....... :wink:

and i was also reminded of how much my parents love me when my dad picked up the tab for my pranged car.........lol..........

and i'm always heartened by the way the changing seasons can really touch my heart........today was a beautiful spring day.......i could almost smell the optimism and hope of the new.......

I learned that it doesn't matter how hard I try to follow a schedule... I am always overflowed with things to do by the end of the month.

Thanks, Fluff. I can always count on you to have an intellectual, positive conversation. Sorry to hear about your car. I love Ganesh! My brother gave me a Ganesh necklace that I've worn every day since he gave it to me (to remove all obstacles and negative energy) and I just bought a Ganesh head from a Hindu vendor down the promenade of where I'm working. Enjoy the seasons! I am for a change (it's nice to be out of California)! :wink:

I learnt a little about chiropractics, especially as applied to sacro-iliac joint.

I learned that math is completely and utterly pointless becuase all numbers are equal, AND all numbers equal zero. . . . follow this.

Theorem: All numbers are equal.
Proof: Choose arbitrary a and b, and let t = a + b. Then

a + b = t
(a + b)(a - b) = t(a - b)
a^2 - b^2 = ta - tb
a^2 - ta = b^2 - tb
a^2 - ta + (t^2)/4 = b^2 - tb + (t^2)/4
(a - t/2)^2 = (b - t/2)^2
a - t/2 = b - t/2
a = b

* x^2 = x squared

Further more

Proof: Since a=b. Then
a = b
a^2 = ab
a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2
(a + b)(a - b) = b(a - b)
a + b = b
a = 0


My brain hurt after this one.

See, it's all an illusion :wink:

May I proffer my analysis, the weak link in the above theorems is equations like (a+b)(a-b) = a^2 - b^2. This holds true only if the calulation is made right away. But here they are kept in variables and the variables are thrown around to create the illusion. I like it nevertheless :)

I learned you can't be sad when a toddler is smiling at you. I love my little cousin Maggie. She is SO precious.

I learned that I still have an intense dislike for math.

Levity is a room I go to so the pain can't get me. It's a big room. No one wants to hear my boring cogitations on cause and effect, tabula rasa, karma, redemption and wet dishragism.

I learned that it's worth it to take risks.

It's better to regret doing something than it is to spend the rest of your life wondering "what if?"
