When you go to old town Alexandria, there will be a vagrant outside the CVS drug store and McDonald's begging. Tell him you are willing to buy him a burger if he's hungry.
He will rain such a stream of invective down on you that you'll have to take notes. It's a quirky experience.

He gets mad because he wants money, not food....and he starts cussing at you.

Don't always assume such, assume he is hungry.
Don't say anything, just go buy the hambugar & give it to him.
Too many people assume beggars want booze, then they go hungry.
Either way,They need food, give food.

When you walk by a vagrant and you say, "Would you like a hamburger....I'd be willing to go inside and buy you one." And THAT person starts cussing at you......
I know the Bible says to help those less fortunate, but isn't offering to buy a burger just THAT?
So many folks walk right on by.
I have bought many hamburgers....just not for the guy in Old Town.
