Every year she has a "favorite things" show where she gives away gosh, thousands of dollars worth of stuff to the audience.
This year the audience is hurricane Katrina's aid workers. They thought they were going to be discussing the disaster, but she's surprised them.
It's the favorite things episode and it's so cool to see them getting all these things. Some are crying.

whilst not detracting from the human scale of the tragedy, i hope the people who risked life and limb for the poor animals, the pets etc ,are recognised.............Pets are family too and animals can be a great comfort in hard times.................the animal aid folks, risked a lot...........they deserve credit too.......

Yes, they just talked about that.
Coincidentally, Oprah just said her favorite color is green.

I like green. . . I'm not sure why. all I know is that my reson for liking the color green has nothing to do with a RUG! (Unlike some people I might know.) OR green spandex tights. . .*Gagues*

Today she has Jaime Foxx and it's a fascinating interview. He's kind of going into how difficult it is for a celebrity to date.
Everyone here's seen "Ray", right? It's an awesome movie as much for Foxx's performance as it teaches about Ray Charles' life.

Yes. I saw that too.
Sometimes I really wish I had a lot of money to give, because there are lots of organizations that need it.
When my dad died, my brothers got mad at me, but I asked for memorial donations to American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Baltimore.
The wanted donations to just go to mom.

The color green, I never really gave it much thought.
White is so.... well unfinished. Blue and all the various shades were my favorite growing up. I had 365 colors in my crayon box, bt I didn't like periwinkle though. I alway threw that one away.
But now that I've aged, I even periwinkle in my wardrobe, but Green! Well! I love it. And after serious consideration I do want to have a Green room one day. Furry green carpet, Grinch decopage, green plants and a green fuzzy toilet bowl cover, a big deadbolt lock and a giant sunken tub where I can put lots of bubbles, bath oils, candles and soak away my troubles. I loved periwinkle!
I always used to mix up green blue and blue green, though.

There was another color crayon in the 365 box I hated, I don't remember what the name is but it was a real tacky orange-pink (flesh tone) shade... ooh! I never used it.
