from the look of it i'm dissapointed...............i was hoping they'd go for an altogether more authentically dark and atmospheric tone of mood.............

It basically looks like a bog-standard Hanks Hollywood blockbuster..............and the character of Silas has been downplayed i reckon.............I can see why Jim might not have been ideal for the role.............basically he'd have acted Hanks out of his formulaic socks..............lol..........plus they've made it bog-standard ............any degree of depth would stand out...........

whilst it will probably be good i would have like to see it shot in a more moody atmospheric fashion...............lol..........

i hope the trailer is biased towards the people who want a blockbuster instead of to those of us who would like to see the book's dark story...

i remember when ESOSM came out, they pushed it as a comedy...marketing/editing of the trailers can really change the feel of what the film really is...hope that's the case this time...but Jim did turn down bewitched because he wasn't happy with the direction so you never know...guess we'll have to wait and see...

when is it supposed to be out?

This movie isn't necessarily something I am too excited about. It doesn't really strike me. I'll prolly see it when its rentable if I do at all.

I find myself wondering why they didn't make Angels and Demons first.
IMO it's just as good if not better than The Davinci Code.

ahh...............but the Code has the Kudos ................everyone has read it............everyone has pondered the questions.............everyone wants to see it...............
Except i stand by my disapointment........i would have liked it to have been more groundbreaking...........
i know the deal is the story..........
i'm not expecting them to technically or artistically innovate.........
but i'd have liked less Hollywood Glitz........a more brooding sombre tone..........i'm thinking i guess back to stuff like The Omen, and the Exorcist for the whole Catholic mood thing.............

It'll be highly watcheable, i have no doubt about that..........but it's not gonna be life changingly amazing............not this time..........

I gotta stand up for Tom Hanks here Fluff, formulaic !!! I watched Forrest Gump again yesterday...That was a lovely film, and Saving Private Ryan, Apollo 13, Big, all very different in their way, he really has done some fantastic films and he seems like a nice bloke.

i do love Forest Gump...................and i like Hanks as an actor..........i have nothing against him personally...............rather i'm a bit bored of the HOLLYWOOD blockbuster format.................

i like stuff that makes you really feel.................y'know.......stuff that pushes buttons .......makes you scared or uplifted or aware..............

i guess time will tell..........
