I just had to resurrect this topic.

I heard this song on the radio the other day, and it struck a cord. Every word has meaning.

"Listen To Your Heart" By Roxette

I know there's something in the wake of your smile.
I get a notion from the look in your eyes, yea.
You've built a love but that love falls apart.
Your little piece of heaven turns too dark.

Listen to your heart
when he's calling for you.
Listen to your heart
there's nothing else you can do.
I don't know where you're going
and I don't know why,
but listen to your heart
before you tell him goodbye.

Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile.
The precious moments are all lost in the tide, yea.
They're swept away and nothing is what is seems,
the feeling of belonging to your dreams.

And there are voices
that want to be heard.
So much to mention
but you can't find the words.
The scent of magic,
the beauty that's been
when love was wilder than the wind.

Listen to your heart
when he's calling for you.
Listen to your heart
there's nothing else you can do.
I don't know where you're going
and I don't know why,
but listen to your heart
before you tell him goodbye.

This song is going to stick in my head all day now...

Ohhh... a sad song...

No one would listen (Andrew Lloyd Weber)

No one would listen
No one but her
Heard as the outcast hears

Shamed into solitude
Shunned by the multitude
I learned to listen
In my dark, my heart heard music

I longed to teach the world
Rise up and reach the world
No one would listen
I alone could feel the music

Then at last, a voice in the gloom
Seemed to cry "I hear you
I hear your fears
Your torment and your tears"

She saw my loneliness
Shared in my emptiness
No one would listen
No one but her
Heard as the outcast hears

No one would listen
No one but her
Heard as the outcast hears...

Andrew Lloyd Webber, Phantom of the Opera "Music of the Night"

I still get goosebumps and misty eyes when I listen to that one. The Play and the movie was a masterpiece!

I loooovvveeee music of the night... but I don't think it to be sad... but touching...

And here are the lyrics from the Phantom's libretto for you wonderbunny:

Music of the Night - Phantom Of The Opera

Phantom:
Nighttime sharpens, Heightens each sensation.
Darkness, stirs and wakes imagination.
Silently the senses abandon their defenses.
(Holds out his hand for Christine’s. She takes his hand)

Slowly, gently
Night unfurls its splendor.
Grasp it, sense it,
Tremulous and tender. (Turns Christine’s face to him)

Turn your face away, from the garish light of day!
Turn your thoughts away from cold, unfeeling light.
And listen to the music of the night.

Close your eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams!
Purge your thoughts of life you knew before!
close your eyes, (Christine closes her eyes) let your spirit start to soar………………….
and you’ll live, as you’ve never lived before.

Softly, Deftly,
Music shall caress you.
Hear it, Feel it,
Secretly posses you.
Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind,

In this darkness that you know you cannot fight,
The darkness of the music of the night.

Let your mind
Start a Journey through a strange new world!
Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before!
Let your soul
take you where you long to be...

Only then can you belong (Feels Christine’s face) to me...
(Turns Christine around, and moves his hand down her body)

Floating, falling
Sweet intoxication,
(Puts Christine’s hand on his face)
Touch me, trust me
Savor each sensation.
(Takes Christine’s hand and begins to lead her down some stairs)
Let the dream begin,
Let your (Looks back at Christine) darker side give in

To the power of the music that I write,(Turns back)
The power of the music of the night!

(The PHANTOM leads her to a large mirror from which he removes a dust cover and in which we see the image of CHRISTINE, a perfect wax-face impression, wearing a wedding gown. CHRISTINE moves slowly towards it when suddenly the image thrusts its hands through the mirror towards her. She faints)

(The PHANTOM catches her and carries her to the bed, where he lays her down)

Phantom:
You alone can make my song take flight,
Help me make the music of the—night....
(Pulls down the shudders)

A sad song translated (Sevillanas del Adiós) I was about 7 years old when in Spain ALL we cry for the death of a personage of TV. ........ Buuuuaaaaaaahhhh, Chanquete you you cannot dieeeee.

Sevillanas of the Good-bye

Something dies at heart when a friend goes. When a friend goes and he goes leaving a track that itself cannot
be erased. You do not go still, do not go please. You do not go still that to my guitar cries when good-bye
says. A handkerchief of silence at the moment of to leave. And at the moment of to leave because there are
words that wound and themselves do not they should they say. You do not go still… The ship is done small when
moves away in the sea. When it moves away in the sea and when goes losing how large is the solitude. You do
not go still… That empty one that leaves the friend that goes. The friend that goes is like a well without
fund that itself is not filled again. You do not go still…
