I had all four of my wisdom teen taken out. . . I hated it, I couldn't eat anything for about 3 days afterward. Tomato soup was my best friend. :D

My wisdom teeth were coming in and they were pushing on my lower teeth.

The dentist made a thingamajig for the bottom teeth (retainer?) and I accidentally left it in a napkin in Denmark.

Anyway, went back to the dentist and he said, "Well make another mold."

After this was done the dentist came back into the room and said, "Well....it looks like your teeth really ARE moving!!"

In other words, he thought to placate me with the retainer, but he didn't believe there was a problem.

And leaning back in that chair I was in the perfect position to swiftly kick him in the goolies, but I didn't.

Then he decided it was my wisdom teeth and took them out.

There was some pain, but overall it was an ok experience.

Fast forward 4 years. A dental clinic not far from where we lived (in the U.S.) was advertising free wisdom tooth extraction if you would try out Tylenol as a post-operative drug.

My brother and I both went to have it done. I hadn't eaten breakfast, but I had had some orange juice.

The dentist gave me the numbing injections and I told him I could still feel on the right side.

He said, "No ... you fine....medication work!"

So then he starts to pull the right upper wisdom tooth and I swear the pain caused me to see stars. And I said, "It hurts"....he said, "It no hurt!!" And he kept pulling and I said, "I'm going to throw up!" And he said, "It no hurt...you no thow up...you no throw up."

Well....needless to say I brought forth a little orange juice (I'm desperately trying not to be ill all over myself.) All of a sudden the suction thing in my mouth is gurgling and you can SEE the orange juice in the hose and STILL he was yelling, "You no be sick. It NOT hurt!"

Finally he relented and gave me an extra shot on the upper right.

From there things went smoothly.

After I had mine out, the dentist gave me a prescription for Vicaden. But after I was asking the nurse if I could take some of the anesthesia medesine home with me (I was still high), My mom didn't think giving me vicaden would be very smart.

I had a wisdom tooth out 2 years ago, and I felt the whole thing. The gum was left sensitive, and it hurts pretty bad from time to time! I pulled the stitches out, because they were meant to dissolve, but they didn't, for like, 2 weeks.
I have 3 teeth that need to be removed, but I won't have it don't due to fear!

I had all 4 of mine pulled out at once when I was about 17 or 18, I was still in high school, my mom paid extra for them to put me to sleep because I didn't want to see any part of it, the good thing, the surgery was only 20 minutes long, and I had no swelling, bruising or pain afterward, all I did was throw up the anesthetic stuff but after that I was fine, I got pretty lucky, although it was about 1200 bucks lol
