I awoke with a horrible headache. You would NOT believe the dream I had... Indians and arrows. Even watched myself die. How long was I out?
And where's my jacket?

Got a nice bump on the head, but I'm still at a loss...Where am I? It's a neat little room. The bed, a double, is made up with fresh linens and quilts. There's a dresser. A mirror. A candle. Lace curtains over the windows. Nice rug on that hard wood floor. I'm up and peeking through the curtains. Horses. Steer. Chickens...Somebody's ranch, but whose? I'm not sure I'm ready to go through that door just yet...Whoa hey, who's that down there...?

I'm trying to retrace my steps...it's a fog. We were on a wagon train out of the Ohio Valley. We crossed the Ohio. Then the Mississippi. Got ambushed. Robbed by bandits. Few of us escaped and despite the loss of our supply, we were doin' alright, but we were separated in a storm somewhere 'round Kansas or Oklahoma maybe and I've been wandering for weeks...seems like weeks. I was stowed away in a train car for a while. Needed shelter and the means to a town. I thought if I could just send word back to Appalachia...send for help. I was found out and sent walkin'...I'm not sure where that was.
