I have three older brothers.
Here's a story fluffy will like.
I went to college for Drama/English in London. We were a smallish class, so a tightly-knit group. As an American, I was a bit of a curiosity.
There were 5 of us who became especially close. One day in the Students' Union the other four were being kind of secretive about something. One of them said, "Should we tell her?" There was some chatter. I was curious. This one fellow, Chris apparently had a famous mother.
So, he decided to tell me.
"My mom is Susan Hampshire."
I said:
"Who?""
The poor duck was crushed, but I honestly had no idea who she was.
He forgave me, though....in fact, a year later he directed me in a college production of "Cabaret."

let's get real..the only think we will be abble to say is "hi,are you Jim Carrey?" and he say "yes" and we faint.that'a all.
once I saw an actress and the only think I ask her was if she could take a picture with me.

Do you think we'd even have to ask if it's him, I mean, he's kind of distinctive-looking.

Depends on the situation. If you are aproaching for an autograph I suppose yeah.Though Ive never understood the whole autograph thing.Seems silly to me.Ive met celebritites before at a party but to be honest I didnt know who they were until the person I was taking to introduced me and told me a bit about them. Then Ive asked questions but the only things I could think to ask were stuff like isnt hard not having much privacy because people kept approching for autographs even at the tables and restrooms. It was kind of spooky.I felt sorry for them. They have this sort of haunted look in their eyes when someone approaches.

It's ok. In the meantime, I'm figuring it out myself by reading and existing through it.
