I know I would because I don't like him for just his movies. It goes beyond that. And I really don't care whether he does serious roles, comedies or sequels. I love all of his movies no matter what they are. I also don't think he should only do movies that his fans want him to do.
I would also see them and buy them on DVD but I said this before. You can't make up your mind about a movie until you have seen it. But I have one question referring to the quotation: Do you like Jim Carrey as an actor or as a person? You speak like you like him as a person but you aren't a friend of his, are you? So you don't know him and you can only say how he is in movies. And so you only know him as an actor. And you all say you would always like his movies, no matter, what he makes? And what if he makes pornos, action- or splattermovies? I like splattermovies but would you still say,"Yes, that's a good Jim Carrey - movie"? I don't think so. Surely he should not only do movies that his fans want him to do and he shoult have freedom in making his movies but that does not mean that he can do everything he want.

What makes you think I wouldn't like him in those types of movies?

You don't know me either so don't put words in my mouth.
Surely he should not only do movies that his fans want him to do and he shoult have freedom in making his movies but that does not mean that he can do everything he want.
And he doesn't. So what's the problem?

Yes, he doesn't but some people here said that he could.

Yeah, no problem. We should not argue about things Jim could do. We're here because we are all fans of Jim and that unites us. so we should hold together and not the other way around.
Until now nearly all movies of Jim Carrey are really good and I think this will not change in future. Perhaps there will come some movies that I will not like but most of them will surely be excellent.

I 100% agree with JT and Cotton. I am a Jim Carrey fan till the day I die. It's not just about the movies, its about his life, His triumphs and His STATURE. Jim has done what most of us have only dreamt about doing. There is no denying how truly special Jim Carrey is and what he has done for all of us.

Finally I have seen Eternal Sunhine, too. I rent it yesterday (you can't buy it yet) and I must say that this is not a good movie. It's even worse than Majestic and perhaps worse than Grinch. Do you really all think that this is a very good movie? And not because many of you love the person Jim Carrey but because of the movie itself? It's imho a really bad movie. All the time this depressive atmosphere and many silly dialogues. I will buy the movie because it's a Jim Carrey film but I will not have much fun with it. Fortunately the next two movies seem to be funnier ones.

^ I liked that movie a lot, ESOTSM I mean and although I´m huge fan of Jim, it wasn´t the only reason why I liked it.
At least I can say that if the movie would have done without Jim Carrey, I´d liked it anyway. Of course Jim was a very good extra spice to the movie :P
The script and directing is almost magical, that´s why I liked it so much. I have it on dvd and I´ve watched it already three times.

I know! I loved the movie so much! IT was original, creative, I could totally relate to it! I loved it!

also, if you didn't like the movie, Blunt, don't bother wasting your money and buying it. That's something a poser would do (if you don't mind me being blunt). If you're not going to enjoy having it, don't buy it at all!

I also don't like the Grinch and the Majestic very much but I want to have my Jim Carrey - collection complete and so I buy all these movies. Not for posing (btw I wouldn't need that for I have nearly 100 DVDs) but I say "everything or nothing". It's the same with the Scary Movie - films, for example: I like the first one and the last one but not the second. Nevertheless I will buy the box with all three of them because otherwise it wouldn't be complete. And then I would rather buy no one of them.
