You're welcome Filomena!
Niobe, if your nose clears and you try it again, don't hyperventilate.lol
Did I mention these should be done only on an empty stomach ?!
Actually it is good to go yoga classes that includes this breathing techniques (called pranayama) for a few days. They tell you the proper sequence to follow. First yoga (basic exercises), then pranayam, then meditation. It's beginners level and all good. But if nothing else, the pranayama is the least to do because it only takes a few minutes in the morning.
Oh, about your vegan diet, filomena, I hope you are doing it under supervision of a nutritionist etc., because any diet change can be detrimental otherwise. I'm living proof.lol

Well, it wasn't really a spooky coincidence...I exaggerated...it did pop in my head, but popping up on my computer includes doing a little search. I thought that green light represented healing, but I wanted to check it out...but it did kind of pop up, because when I searched later it was hard to find....

Actually, my change to being vegan was something that happened gradually, so I didn't seem to suffer any consequences. But you're right, it's not something you do over night. In fact, sometimes I find myself in a position where I have no choice but to eat meat, because then it's a health issue. Do I eat the high fat nachos n' cheese, or the grilled chicken pita? It was painful for me at first, but then I realized, okay, the chicken is already dead, so let's go for it!
It's really important to self-educate, and of course, tap into your inner self, to help you make the right choices in life. So far, so good.
Well, at least health wise, so far so good. I've still got to work on a few other issues!

lol...........and the more chicken we eat, the less there will be to sneeze their deadly germs on us, so don't feel bad..........it's a service to humanity........

That's great what you are doing Filomena, I think so. I've had to improve my diet substantially too, and I've been feeling great since I have. Trader Joe's is really good...then don't have any junk foods, they pretty much carry quality stuff.

Just kidding ...lol
You crack me up!!!
I call TM "sleep".
The truth is, I can't turn my mind off. When I try, I wind up crying because I remember all the truly fecal stuff that has happened in my life.
It's not easy to forget.
My experience was similar...once I realized I really needed to release the pain and move on..the crying is a good thing...you can clear you mind and heart of pain with meditation...it's not magic...it's a process...maybe you should try again or another form...
It's all about acceptance of being and allowing yourself to be truthful to your own spirit...the good and the not so good of what are all part of the whole..honest

mav wrote:I personally feel that breathing techniques are as beneficial as meditation.
Here are a couple, done preferable sitting in lotus position -
1. Close right nostril with right thumb. Inhale deeply through left nostril. Close left nostril with middle finger and exhale through right nostril. Inhale through right nostril. Repeat. (This is good for relaxation/stress reduction)
2. Strong rapid exhale and short normal inhale. Use abdominal muscles, no chest movement. Repeat around 100 times. (This is good for detoxification)

I like this one!! If I'm feeling down or anxious I take a deep breath in through my nose and think "in with the future"and then exhale through my mouth "out with the past"and envision it as floating away above my head and behind me...repeat as necessary....oh, and I put my hand over my energy source, over the solarplexes

I was at my Mum's house today and she was telling me about the pilates class she signed up for. I was looking at the itinerary for the classes and I found a beginners class in yoga and meditation on offer.
I've been thinking about yoga for a while, and given the talk about meditation and stuff here......I've decided I'm going to ring up and enquire....if there is room left I'm gonna enroll.....

I recently discovered that most of my life has been an "out of body experience".
I need to find something to do that makes me happy. Yoga's not it. I think I may buy a bicycle or some skates.
