it's ridiculous though.....................just how much does a movie have to rake in to be a success??...............a flop to me is one that goes straight to DVD ............or makes a crushing loss..................
Neither Ace WNC or The Cable Guy made losses so they can't be regarded as failures..................
Jim can hold his head up high..........

here ill post a topic for jims box office info so you guys can all define flop. i mean now we wont have arguments on what flopped and didnt. i will post a topic of how much money the movie made while it was in theaters.

(quirky brace yourself to find out that the majestic made the 3rd least out of any of them)

In defense of the Majestic, I just don't think the world was ready to see Jim in a drama, But it did elarge his fanbase, and we have Quirky here all thanks to the Majestic.

The fact that it made third least is sad, but unfortunately true.

i agree w/ u completely.........Jim doing a drama, at the time, was unheard of and a stupid idea......but because of such a loyal fanbase he has.......it was able to turn out some kind of profit.....but i think this film should be labeled a cult film instead of a flop.

well he had to change direction at some point or he was in danger of being pigeon-holed........respect to him for that.........it was a brave and in my opinion successful move...........it shows he's not afraid to stick his neck out and diversify...........

He's smart in that reguard too. He doesn't want to be looked back on as "the guy who did all those comedies" He wanted a well-rounded career. He will now be remembered as a good actor who can do anything.
