I think he should do one good studio movie like Liar Liar and then one good 'independent' movie like ESOTSM, alternately. The middle path. Doing only big films or only small films would be selling himself short.
As far as nature of the movies...well...eclectic is the word. I dont read much, so dont have any eclectic suggestion. Anything that will bring out his best. The 'Henry's List of Wrongs' sounds really good.
And yes, fluffy, somehow, Shakespeare sounds really good on him. No kidding.

I had to check myself for a moment last night when I read that he was going to maybe do something called "Strutter" about a race-walker.
It's definitely different.
Which Shakespeare role? I think it might work. I think Petruchio in "Taming of the Shrew" would be good.

On second thoughts Shakespeare doesn't seem as challenging. I haven't studied acting. I was thinking Shakespeare provides a wider canvas for emotions, but maybe it is for tenth grade. Unless there is some kind of a comedic or modern twist.
Such as... Romeo and Juliet meet on an internet chat room, fall in love, marry their neighbors, and continue with the online relationship. Their marriages can replace their too-busy-with-manicure parents as the perfect foil.
Or something like. ..Ceasar and Brutus blame it on Cingular wireless but Cassius asks them to join Scientology where they all get reformed.
Or since Jim likes playing a TV reporter he could report on the court drama Shyloc Vs Antonio case, and dally with Portia on the side.
Phew! That took some thinking. But it still doesn't sound challenging enough. Well...I think Strutter it is, then.

I think Shakespeare's themes are timeless, though. I think Jim could tame the shrew.

LOL-that's funny....ROCKY6
I'd like to see him do an action movie-where he would have to sky dive from a 500 foot building......swim with the whales or on top of one....climb a tree and swing like a monkey- stuff like that, action stuff!

Wait-didn't he swing like a monkey in Ace Ventura's when Nature Calls?

I'm serious on the cartoon movie thing. He a lot of funny voices in his movies and on In Living Color. I think he's perfect to do a cartoon movie.
