Back to the ranch...

Seems the fellow who left his saddle out there on the fence was Owen's friend Jim. Jim's been sweet on Owen's cousin, Nicola, for some time now. She'll be here tomorrow by stagecoach... It'll be nice to have another female around... maybe it's just me, but I've felt as though a million eyes are following me every minute since my arrival here in Dallas...

Owen's cousin, Nicola, was adopted. Seems her family was wiped out by a renegade band of Pawnee...they just left baby Nicola to die. I've not been told the whole tale, but Owen's uncle (someone or other) saw the smoke of the burning house on the open plain and went to check it out... the child was saved from her burning home and has been a part of their family ever since...

The sunset, in it's sea of purple and blues, pinks and peach, pulled down with it the celestial shade of night...

...but in the cool November air was found for me a warmth I've never known.

Wow, Wylde, you've got a gift for prose.

I hope you're putting it all together and packaging it in the form of a short story (or tall tale) or something. It would be a shame for such a talent to go to waste!

So, back at the ranch..............Susy was taking care of the child, Nicola, feeling warm and cozy in her electric blankie, drinking herbal lemon tea, when all of a sudden, she felt a jolt.

Lightening? Earthquake? No, it was the deep, penetrating gaze of Jim's hot cousin, Owen. Looking through the window - sweaty, hungry, and exhausted. Waiting patiently for Susy to say something. Anything. Just open the door, and let him in.

Susy, who's Susy? ...and it was friend Jim, not cousin. Nicky seemed interested in my diversional meltdown, so I've invited her to contribute... which turns us now in the direction of 'fan fiction.' It wasn't exactly what I had in mind, but whatever... and no, I almost never keep anything I write and my talents are ever wasted... if indeed I had any talent at all. But thank you for the compliment. That was kind of you. :D

The way this went... it looks as though we're a little further back in history than you realize...no electric blankets yet no electric freezer...so if you kill it you eat it...with that in mind.

Looks like I need to play catch up again... I'm not ready to tell the whole tale of my coming to the ranch, suffice it to say that Owen shot the bull that trampled me to near death ...enjoy your steak.

No... we need a history on you. You're grown.
