Learning inevitably messes with our beliefs, values, ideologies, and so on... it provokes questioning... as we learn, we start questioning ourselves and sometimes we just don't find a plausible explanation for what we are looking for... and we become frustrated.

Ok here's another one, I've been slacking lately.

General Gasslefield, accused of high treason, is sentenced to death by the court-martial. He is allowed to make a final statement, after which he will be shot if the statement is false or will be hung if the statement is true. Gasslefield makes his final statement and is released. The Question: What could he have said?

I'm not General G...I'm his twin brother Leroy.

Lol, nice try. But sadly that would have gotten him shot. . .

He got afflicted by lockjaw and was unable to make a statement.

He died while making the statement, so they had to release him.

Nope. . . . keep guessing. I'm surprized, I actually thought this one was easier than most of the others.

OK, I'm not sure if my brain has tied itself in knots over this......but, could it be that he says something along the lines of "I am going to be shot".
The theory being it is not false because he believed it to be true (so he cannot be shot for a false statement). However it isn't true either because if it was he'd be hung...and he said he was going to be shot.

Have I just talked a load of nonense there??? I can't tell. Lol.

No nonsense from you, you nailed it!!

He said I will be shot. (true statement) he would have to be hung for that, making it a false statement and completely nullifying the prior verdict. It's a paradox! Good job. . . does anyone else wanna post one? If not, I'll put one up by saturday :D

Ok, I see I will have to maintain control of the reigns here.

A man born in 1955, but today is his 18th birthday. . . how is that possible? (hint: 1955 wasn't a leap year)
