"Grinch" TV Deal
03 Jan 2001

by S.A._JCFan

"The Grinch" scored big at the box office. Now it scores big on television. According to Movieheadlines.net and Variety, "Universal has engineered a massive $60 million, 10-year, shared-network deal with ABC and the Disney Channel for 'Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas,' America's No. 1-grossing movie of 2000". In addition, "The Grinch" will also go to Starz! as part of the output deal with Imagine Entertainment.

Universal is delaying "The Grinch"'s video release until Fall 2001, so you'll only be seeing it on ABC and the Disney Channel around Thanksgiving and Christmas of 2004. ABC and the Disney Channel also scored broadcast rights on "Dinosaur", "Gladiator" and "What Lies Beneath".
