Well, I noticed there is no English translation for a typical kind of snack bar you can find on every corner in Belgium. It's focused on fries (to hell with the 'french' part, it's Belgian!) and the snacks that go with it. You might know us for waffles (which is strange, lol, since it's not a typical Belgian snack at all and waffle houses are not a thing), chocolates and beer (can see that). But the only real one should be fritshops. It's something I never find in other countries. Maybe in France, some. And in Holland (copy of the bad kind) ... But that's it. There is one in New York that I know of, ran by Belgians. And even though it's fries, burgers and things like that, it's not comparable with Wimpy Burger, Burger King or McDonald's at all.
So give me my fries, Bicky Burger, Gipsy Stick, Currysausage Special, Boulette and ten different sauses right now.
In England they use 'chip shop', but it's not quite the same and 'fish and ships' isn't quite it either.
