Well it would be great but I'm not sure he will want to reprise the same role.

As we know, Jim prepared for other upcoming alter-ego's of Count Olaf during the filming of Lemony Snicket. I believe it's a true shame we've never seen the rest of it, since I believe this was as strong as the best Harry Potter movie (being Azkaban, imo) out there.

Somwhere inside I'm actually hoping for him to return, I realy do. He was outstanding. But we all know it's unlikely. First, there's no doubt they are going to do it from the beginning and by that, offer the alternative for the movie. So, the movie is ignored. Carrey doing the same role all over again, I don't see that happening. And I can think of many other reasons.

I was hoping the stop-motion, which Carrey could voice, sequel would have happened. But that announcment was nothing more than false hope. It's one of my favorite franchises that never was.

Just heard that Neil Patrick Harris is playing Count Olaf. I think it's wrong on many levels.   Nothing against NPH, but I don't think the actor can carry the same balance of creepy and comedic that Carrey achieved! When Jim played Olaf in the film version, his version of the character was a hammy actor with an evil streak which works. I've seen how NPH performs on TV, but I don't think it's gonna work unless there's some actor's fan out there that wants to correct me.

What do you guys think???

I also read that the new series will be more of a drama than the dark comedy that the books and movie was known for.   Go read the books and watch the movie again, and please tell me that this is all kinds of wrong!!!

I know. Jim was the best thing about the Lemony Snicket movie. I just loved his character, he really is a fantastic actor. If they made a series for this with him in it then that would make me so happy.

I have read all the series
I thought
Jim would play all parts
If there is a filming conflict I understand
but
sincethe first book is just as vital
As the end book
so is Count Olaf and the original Actor
just as vital

It would be a great idea if Jim plays the theater critic that Dustin Hoffman played in the film version. Would be hilarious if he says "not nice" things about NPH's Count Olaf!
